You are invited to join us for Magrib salah followed by an iftar meal on Saturday 8th March at St Andrew’s Church in Southward. Some attendees will join the salah online and some will congregate together in-person at the venue. After salah we will eat and spend time together. You can view all our Ramadan events on Eventbrite.

If you are new to Inclusive Mosque we should let you know that most of our imams are women, genderqueer or nonbinary Muslims and we expect all attendees to show them your full support. For this event our imam will join us online.

We will not ask anyone to segregate themselves so please be aware that you will see Muslims of different genders praying side by side. If you are attending online, please see our ground rules and advice on etiquette at our online prayers before attending. You can join and leave an event whenever you need to. Don’t worry about being late or leaving early.

Covid Safety

Please bring your own prayer mats. We expect all attendees to take a Covid test on the day of the event and if it is positive, please do not attend. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend.

FAQ

Can I attend if I’m not Muslim?
Yes, you can but please be conscious of cultural voyeurism and remember this is a sacred place of prayer for the Muslims in attendance. If you are White, please be conscious of White supremacy and make sure you’re centring the Black and brown people in the room.

Can I bring my non-Muslim partners/friend/family member?
Yes, they’ll be very welcome. As above, please have a conversation with them about cultural voyeurism and if they are white, talk to them about white supremacy, racism and how they can support Black and brown people in the room.

Can I bring my child/children?
Yes you definitely can. Please talk to them about being kind to everyone at IMI. You will be responsible for your children throughout the event and you must supervise them during the prayer. If you will be praying, please come with another adult who can supervise your children.

Can I give my Zakat to Inclusive Mosque?
Yes, if you’d like to make a bank transfer, our details are:
Bank: Unity Bank Trust PLC
Account Name: Inclusive Mosque Initiative
Sort Code: 608301
Account Number: 20512594
Or you can make a donation via Enthuse

Can I help/Do you need volunteers?
You can definitely help out. Our volunteers will be wearing lanyards so you can talk to them about IMI and what’s needed. You can also volunteer from home as our events are hybrid. If you’d like to be an official volunteer with your very own lanyard haha email us at admin@inclusivemosque.org

Can IMI hold Tarawih prayers during Ramadan?
We don’t have enough money to rent out the venue for longer than we do now and we don’t have enough imams for this. If you’d like to see IMI do this please consider becoming a regular donor and be in touch if you might like to lead prayers with us.
