The Inclusive Mosque Halaqa is back and we’re trialling out a hybrid format. Join us in-person or online for a discussion on wealth in the Qur’an. A common thread through lots of organised religions is the understanding that the pursuit of wealth is not the purpose of life. That greed is a sign of a lack of faith and that charity is a sign of good character. But Muslim practices around wealth include some of the most radical forms of wealth distribution and the most unapologetic acts of exploitation. In this discussion we’ll explore how different interpretations of Qur’anic verses can lead to wealth justice and wealth inequality. How can we commit to action that addresses wealth injustice as individuals and as a collective?
