Inclusive Mosque warmly invites LGBTQ+ Muslims to join our support group led by and for LGBTQ+ Muslims. In this group you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other LGBT+ Muslims and learn from each other about creating and sustaining communities of support. Each session is structured to help us draw on our own resources to better take care of ourselves and others. There will be an hour of free time from 1pm to 2pm if you’d like to stick around and talk. This is a group for adults aged 21+.

Please don’t register if you’re not sure you’ll be able to make it as we have very limited spots available.

There are four sessions each taking place from 11am to 1pm BST:

  • Saturday 15th April
  • Saturday 13th May
  • Saturday 3rd June
  • Saturday 15th July

When you register, please select a ticket for each date you’d like to attend. If you would like to donate to Inclusive Mosque, please consider a small monthly donation via our website.

This support space is for LGBTQ+ Muslims. This includes people who are questioning their gender and/or sexuality. If you want to bring someone to support you in this space, you’re welcome to bring them as long as they are aged 21+. If bringing a straight, cis friend would help you to access the space, do bring them but please purchase 2 tickets.

If you need support with transportation to or from the venue, please email admin@inclusivemosque.org We do have some funds set aside to support with transport costs so get in touch.

BSL interpretation will be provided, except on the 15th April. We’re really sorry we couldn’t arrange BSL interpretation for this date.

There will be hot and cold halal food available at every session including during Ramadan for those who are not fasting. People who are fasting are expected to be welcoming and accommodating of those who are not.

It’s also important that everyone is present for the start of the session to agree the ground rules together for all our safety and to maintain respect and thoughtfulness through each session.

The Soanes Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, including an accessible toilet and park paths. The Soanes Centre is just inside the main entrance to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. The closest step-free train stations are Bow Church (approx 13 mins away), and Bromley-by-Bow (approx. 20 mins away) where manual boarding ramps need to be arranged. Buses D6, D7, 25, 205, 277, 323, 339, 425 stop near the venue.

Please check the venue’s website for full accessibility info.

This is an indoor event. Hand sanitiser and handwashing facilities will be available and the space will be cleaned thoroughly before the event. Windows will stay open for ventilation so please dress warmly. We suggest that you wear sturdy, flat footwear appropriate for the woodland environment surrounding the Soanes Centre.

We encourage attendees and team members to wear a mask but people who find masks to be too big a barrier to communication, or find it negatively impacts their health, don’t have to wear one.

We ask all attendees to take a lateral flow test on the day of this event. We won’t ask you to share the results with us but we do request that you don’t attend this event if you test positive or have any cold- or flu-like symptoms. Thank you for helping us support the most marginalised people at IMI to access our events.

Please let us know if you have any access needs we should be aware of or if there’s anything we can do to improve your experience at this event. You can email us at admin@inclusivemosque.org or leave a voice message on +44 203 189 1185.
