Inclusive Halaqa – Thursday 27th February

St Ethelberga's, 78 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AG

Our next halaqa will look at notions of prophethood in the Qur’an. Who receives Allah’s message and what can we learn about their relationship with Allah swt? What of the women in the Qur’an who spoke with Allah swt and the angels? Should we regard them as prophets?

This space has been created primarily for people of colour who are women and/or genderqueer but everyone is welcome. If On the last Thursday of every month at our Inclusive Halaqas, we journey through powerful themes in the Quran and sunnah in a safe and affirming space. We centre the voices of Muslims who are women, nonbinary, genderqueer, Black and disabled especially. If you are White and/or male, you are welcome to attend but please remember this event aims to centre the voices of people of colour especially women and nonbinary people who rarely have access to these kinds of mosque events.

A halaqa is a gathering for the purpose of collectively studying the Qur’an and the example of the Prophet Muhammad. As with all IMI events, Muslims of all denominations are welcome to join, as well as peoples of all faiths and none. No prior knowledge is necessary, this is a place for exploration, devotion and doubt simultaneously.

No booking required; this event is free to attend. We appreciate all donations that help us to keep these kind of events going.
