You’re warmly invited to our Eid ul Adha salah (prayers) on Wednesday 21st July at 10.30am.

As with all IMI events, expect to see women and nonbinary people leading and people of genders, races, sexualities, and sects praying together. If you have non-Muslim partners and/or family they are welcome to attend. Please see our ground rules and advice on etiquette at our online prayers before attending.

The schedule for our Eid event is:

  • 10.30am: Join
  • 10.30am: Eid Takbeer and Nasheeds
  • 10.50am: Eid Salah
  • 11.00am: Khutbah (sermon) in English
  • 11.20am: Eid ul Adha social space
  • 11.30am: End

1. If you would like to attend our online Eid ul Adha event, please register on Eventbrite.

2. You will then be taken through a few short questions. For the protection of our imams, many of whom are women and/or from LGBT+ communities, we are screening registrations to minimise the risk of harassment and cyber bullying.

3. We will look over the answers you have provided and get back to you in the evening before the event.

Emails from Eventbrite sometimes go straight to spam and junk folders so please check those as well as your inbox. Please don’t share the Zoom link, that’s just for you. When you attend the event, make sure your Zoom display name is the same as the name you signed up with. You don’t have to turn your video on.

Please let us know if you have any access needs we should be aware of or if there’s anything we can do to improve your experience at this online event. You can email us at admin@inclusivemosque.org or leave a voice message on +44 203 189 1185.

Inclusive Mosque Initiative is an intersectional feminist mosque dedicated to creating inclusive, safer places of worship and spiritual practice for marginalised communities. We are committed to reviving a rights-based Islam that challenges all forms of oppression. Would you like to help us continue our work creating LGBT+ inclusive, feminist mosque events? Please consider donating to our Feminist Imam Programme.

All the money raised will go towards delivering:

  • Group and one-to-one sessions with a counsellor for LGBT+ Muslims struggling with reconciling faith and sexuality or gender identity. These will be affirmative spaces designed to support LGBT+ Muslims to use their own agency in their approach to all elements of their lives.
  • Imam training to support LGBT+ Muslims and their families or friendship groups to support one another.
  • Imam training to support the families of Muslims with mental health needs.
  • Imam training to support interfaith couples and their families.
  • Other elements of imam training such as safeguarding, anti-racism, anti-ableism, domestic abuse awareness and responsible leadership training.
  • Payment for imams.
  • Continued professional development for imams.

Your donations mean we can do this urgent work and support Muslims from marginalised communities. Please donate and share our fundraiser.
